New Dynamic Records

New Dynamic Records is part of a larger initiative at IU Southeast called The New Music Project, which was developed for the purpose of discovering, nurturing, and preserving the practice, study, and dissemination of new and innovative post-classical music.  The goal of New Dynamic Records is to present music that represents the stylistically diverse culture of the 21st century.  As a fresh alternative to the typical “classical” and “pop” scenes, New Dynamic Records gives audiences a glimpse into a rich musical landscape that provokes, inspires, and introduces the imagination to new sound worlds.

One important component of the mission of New Dynamic Records is to discover and record music written by both well-known and ‘emerging’ composers and to have it performed by the most critically-acclaimed ensembles and soloists from around the world.  To date, New Dynamic Records has released two albums, including one entitled Spiritual Overdrive, featuring the internationally-known Aurelia Saxophone Quartet.  The label will record the critically-acclaimed Pittsburgh New Music Ensemble this year and is scheduled to record the Prism Saxophone Quartet on its 4th release for the 2008-09 year.  Please visit www.NewDynamicRecords.com for audio clips, videos, and interviews that highlight the music and production of each CD release.
